For fourteen years the Ohio Golf Course Owners Association (OGCOA) has operated a series of junior golf tournaments in Ohio, advancing the winners to a State Championship. Additionally, sixteen outstanding players are invited to advance to a two-day Ryder Cup style match with the best players from Pennsylvania.
Regional Tournaments
Regional Tournaments are open to all junior golfers 18 years of age and younger. Nothing to join, no membership fees, just pay the registration for the tournaments you want to play. The Regional Tournament schedule follows:

June 16 Liberty Hills Golf Club, Bellefontaine
June 20 Chapel Hill Golf Club, Mt Vernon

OGCOA State Championship Tournament
The 2012 State Championship will be held July 19-20 at Foxfire Golf Club. This 2-day, 36 hole event is open to all junior golfers 18 years and under. Points accumulated will follow the same protocol as at the regional tournaments, but additionally event winners points (top 10 places for boys, top 6 places for girls) receive double points.
The First and Second place boy and girl winners at the State Championship will automatically be invited to participate on the Ohio Bi-State team.
Bi-State Championship
Ohio and Pennsylvania junior golfers will compete on July 30-31 at Tam O Shanter, Sharon, PA. in this annual event. Ten boys and six girls from each state will be invited to participate in this two-day Ryder Cup format tournament.
All members of the “Ohio” Bi-State team must have played in at least one of the OGCOA Regional Tournaments.
The First and Second place winners at the OGCOA State Championship will be invited. If either player isn’t able to participate in the Bi-State event, the third or fourth place winners will be invited. If these positions are not filled, other point winners will be invited.
Additionally two boys and two girls will be selected at the discretion of the Junior Tournament Committee.
The remainder of the Bi-State team (6 boys/2girls) will be selected from those players with the highest accumulated points from the Regional tournaments and the State Championship. In case of a tie in points, the place the golfer finished in their tournaments will decide the winner
Thirteen & Under players are not eligible to play in the Bi-State event unless they either play UP with the 14-18 age group, or if they are selected by the Junior Tournament Committee as one of their two selection choices.
