For twelve years the Ohio Golf Course Owners Association (OGCOA) has operated a series of junior tournaments in Ohio, advancing the winners to a State Championship. Additionally, sixteen outstanding players are invited to advance to a two-day Ryder Cup style match with the best players from Pennsylvania.
OGCOA State Championship Each year the OGCOA sponsors a two-day championship tournament. This year’s event will be hosted July 15-16 at Colonial Golfers Club, Lima, OH. OGCOA State Champions will be announced and trophies presented at the end of this tournament. Additionally, these winners will be invited to participate on the “Ohio” Bi-State team. Please click here for the registration form. The OGCOA State Championship is open to all boys and girls that are 18 years of age or younger. There will be three age groups for both boys and girls:
Bi-State Championship Ohio and Pennsylvania junior golfers will compete on August 2-3, at Grove City Country Club, Grove City, PA in this annual event. Ten boys and six girls from each state will be invited to participate in this two-day Ryder Cup format tournament. All members of the “Ohio” Bi-State team must have played in the OGCOA State Championship. The Bi-State team will be selected as follows: Two boys and two girls will be selected at large by the Ohio Bi-State Committee Eight boys and four girls will be selected at the OGCOA State Championship Tournament. The first 8 place boys and first 4 place girls will be offered first right of refusal to participate on the B-State team. If for any reason, these players can’t participate, those open team spots will be filled by the Bi-State committee from the remaining field of players at the State Championship. All players interested in possibility being a member of the Bi-State team, are requested to be prepared to commit to the tournament schedule immediately following the end of the State Championship Tournament.
